  1. How did you find your way into the insurance broking world?

It was a segue from my prior role as a Business Manager at a not-for-profit social enterprise. I had a friend that worked at an insurer, and they mentioned I would be perfect for the role, a few years later turned to broking and the rest is history.

  1. What were you doing before you joined the insurance industry, and what skills were you able to bring with you?

Business Management at not-for-profits is a job that requires one to wear many hats. I learned a great deal from accounting to business and negotiating skills, fundraising, people management and at times the office clown (very demanding).

  1. How would you describe what you do for your clients in one sentence?

Navigate one of the most complex classes of insurance with the least amount of confusion.

  1. What types of clients or industries do you typically work with?

SME or commercial clients in specialised industries, association peak bodies, volunteer groups, clubs and clients that requires scalable insurance or complex insurance structures.

  1. What’s one client story or experience that’s really stayed with you?

When I was quite junior, I managed to overturn a claim declinature on a large loss. It was for a sole trader client who unfortunately had experienced a tragic circumstance in the incident and for the longest time was experiencing hardship. I was there throughout the journey with him and the positive feedback form the client just has stuck with me and drives me to do what I do every day.

  1. What makes Network Insurance House different?

Everyone is approachable and has a deep level of knowledge about specific industries or policy types. Everyone is willing to work together, and it gives me confidence that clients will be looked after by brokers that genuinely care.

  1. What do you value most about the way we work or support our clients?

Even if your specific broker is away there will always be someone there to help our clients. Giving everyone peace of mind cannot be underestimated.

  1. What’s the most rewarding part of your role?

Speaking and seeing my clients. Anyone can do insurance, but the relationships are special and the tailored service and expertise is irreplaceable.

  1. When you’re not at work, where can we find you?

Always laughing and having a good time. Taking advantage of some sunny weather (rare in Melbourne) on a rooftop with some friends or hanging out with family for no particular reason.
