Getting to know Kasia Mills, Account Broker

Meet Perrymans Account Broker Kasia Mills, based in Adelaide. With almost 10 years in the insurance industry, Kasia is passionate about helping clients protect what matters most. Known for combining practical insight with in-depth technical knowledge, Kasia works closely with any client with a Financial Lines exposure to provide tailored insurance solutions and trusted advice.

1. How did you find your way into the insurance broking world?

I got into insurance by chance – starting as an assistant while studying, then moving into claims, and finally finding my niche in financial lines.

2. What were you doing before you joined the insurance industry, and what skills were you able to bring with you?

Studying law, a great fit for financial lines with the need for attention to detail, navigating complex situations, and considering problems from many different angles.

3. How would you describe what you do for your clients in one sentence?
I help clients understand their financial risks and find the best solutions to protect and grow their business.

4. What types of clients or industries do you typically work with?

I work with clients of all sizes, across industries like construction, engineering, financial services, life sciences, and many others in between.

5. What’s one client story or experience that’s really stayed with you?

It’s not about one specific client, but those who come to us with a business idea or just starting out – and who we’ve seen grow, sometimes in unexpected and exciting ways, whether it’s developing a medical product that could change patient care or expanding their horizons into space.

6. What makes Perrymans different?

7. What do you value most about the way we work or support our clients?

That we take the time to thoroughly understand our client’s business, vulnerabilities and goals, and find a path together to addressing them. Always, with an emphasis on giving them good practical advice, even over price.

8. What’s the most rewarding part of your role?

Finding a solution to a problem that’s really worrying a client or helping them solve an issue they’ve been stuck on. It’s satisfying to see the relief they feel when we find the right answer together and know they can forge ahead towards a new project or goal.

9. When you’re not at work, where can we find you?

I’m often trying to keep my two labradoodles out of trouble, working at keeping my garden from staging a full-on uprising, or getting lost in a good book.
